Fleas live for one purpose, to feed on the blood an unsuspecting host. If that host dies or is removed from the home, the adult fleas will actively seek a new host. Flea life cycles consist of four stages: egg, larva, pupae, and adult. Egg and pupal stages protect growing fleas from pesticides and their effect, making flea control a cooperative process with the homeowner and their Pronto technician.
Prior to treatment, you should:
Application of a residual product is not enough. Pronto combines thorough precision residual treatment with IGR's (insect growth regulators) to provide the fastest flea control. Your Pronto technician will pay special attention to areas where any pets spend time or sleep.
Pronto will schedule a follow-up visit approximately two weeks from the first to insure control of your flea problem.
Adult fleas that emerge from pupae after the initial application. Fact is, they'll die. The residual application typically has a 30 to 60 day residual. It does take longer for a dry residual to kill than when it's first applied.
Vacuuming every day or two and dumping or discarding the vacuum bag will greatly speed up your results. It removes pupae cases that have not yet released their adults. The more you remove, the fewer adults you'll see.
