Quite simply, at Pronto, we believe in taking advantage of every tool available to provide you with the finest termite protection on earth! Pronto's recommended termite control plan is comprised of these steps:
- Inspection and Evaluation
- Structural Modification
- Active Infestation Elimination
- Risk Management Applications
- Bait/Monitoring System Installation
1. Inspection and Evaluation
You don't have to be a construction expert to understand that every home, business, or other type of structure is different. They're built differently, from the ground up, by different folks, using different techniques, and unfortunately, with different standards. Any Termite Control Plan should begin with a thorough inspection of the structure, and a complete evaluation of just how this particular structure can best be protected. Anything less, quite frankly, is cheating the consumer. Proper termite treatment and protection cannot be prescribed over the telephone without visiting the structure.
2. Structural Modificationtermite treatment
Wood in direct contact with the ground must be insulated or removed to prevent termites from making that contact a pathway for entry. Fences and other items attached or leaning against the structure must be addressed to prevent allowing termites from using them as pathways for entry as well. Finally, firewood should be relocated away from direct contact with the structure. Firewood doesn't "attract" termites, but they will certainly use it to attain access to the structures when it is stacked adjacent to them. In addition, wood debris in crawl spaces must also be removed to lessen the "invitation" into those areas. Vapor barriers over crawl space floors are used to reduce moisture content within the crawl area and, if necessary, additional ventilation may be added to aid in reducing that moisture content.
3. Active Infestation Elimination
If termites are already active, application of an undetectable, non-repellent residual liquid will be injected into indoor areas of infestation. In some areas, foam formulations of an "undetectable residual" may be used to attain fast elimination of the activity. We understand that first and foremost, you want the termites gone, and we take action to get the results you expect.
4. Risk Management Applications
To best protect your structure from future infestations, Pronto makes residual applications to "high risk" areas, such as garage walls adjoining the structure, adjacent slab areas, and dirt filled porch areas. On slab homes, applications may be made to bath trap areas, those places where piping comes up through the slab, leaving a broad opening for termites to enter. Treatment of these areas can prevent future damage.
5. Bait/Monitoring System Installation
Finally, Pronto installs the bait/monitoring system to provide ongoing protection. Quarterly monitoring visits allows your Pronto technician to keep a careful eye on what's going on around your home. Best of all, while liquid treatments tend to lose effectiveness as years pass, your bait monitoring system only gets better. As termites continue to forage for food around your home or business, the system is there, intercepting those termites, and stopping them in their tracks.
